Abstract

Abstract. Often the factors of human ability and limitations are not given enough attention, as long as reaching the production target the problem is solved. Consistently, the increase in the number of work accidents and occupational diseases is due to the lack of attention to the work environment that affects human activities in the workplace. Most focus on research and high technology rather than practical action in the workplace. The Ergonomics approach helps increase productivity and prevent work accidents, with practical action in a place where many people work. Ergonomics is not only implemented for product design, work facilities or work places / environment with the aim of increasing effectiveness, efficiency and work productivity. It is also applied to improve the comfort, health and safety of human workers. In this study the ergonomics approach will focus on evaluating work systems, both physical physical work problems (manual lifting, repetitive motion, lighting, noise, and expanded energy) as well as the physical conditions of the work environment (temperature, humidity, air circulation, lighting, noise, mechanical vibrations, odors, and colors) using the Ergonomic checklist
