Abstract

In recent years, industries are required to be environmentally friendly and one way to achieve that is to transform the manufacturing process into green manufacturing. The main reason of this requirement is from two out of the seventeen of the sustainable development goals (SDGs) agreed by the United Nations. Green industry is an effort to reach the responsible production and to overcome climate change issue, which are the twelfth and thirteenth of SDGs. This paper aimed to review literatures on the impact of green manufacturing towards the environment as a part of SDGs. There were 100 papers reviewed and 30 of them met the inclusion criteria. The inclusion criteria were green manufacturing implementation, sustainable development goals, the impact of green manufacturing to the environment, and environmentally responsible production. In conclusion, researches and studies on the relevance between green manufacturing and SDGs are needed to raise awareness of the goals and help in evaluating the efficiency of the impact from implementing green manufacturing to SDGs.
