CHARACTERISTICS OF LEADERS IN THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION ERA 4.0 IN SHIPPING AND PORT MANAGEMENT (STUDY OF TRANSPORTATION)

Abstract

This study aims to determine the characteristics of leaders in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 in shipping and port service companies and have an impact on the excellence of transportation sector companies. The research method by forming latent variables based on the suitability of theory and events in the company and making the indicators. Survey of 58 worker respondents from 15 shipping and port company operators. Analysis using factor analysis. The results found that the types of leaders according to workers are Intelligent leaderships 2.77, Transformational leaderships 2.45 and Servant leaderships 2.35. The results of the factor analysis are 5 important groups of leader types for shipping companies and the port industry, including conceptualization of vision, empathy accompanied by directing, innovating for creativity, commitment to development and Role model.
