Abstract
Kebaya is one of the top clothing (top fashion). Kebaya is one of the main types of garment that became the National dress of Indonesian women. Kebaya has special characteristics from the aspect of structural design, functional design and decorative design. One of the decorative design aspects of the kebaya is closely related to the sewing technique. Suturing technique determines the type of stitching on the kebaya. This article explains the types of stitches used on body lines in the design structure of the kebaya. The discussion of this topic uses content analysis which explains the type of stitching on the kebaya (body points, body lines, models, and functions of the kebaya parts). The types of stitches used in the kebaya design structure can be observed, namely the self bound seam technique and the slip stitched hem technique. The conclusion shows that the sewing technique used or chosen in the process of making clothing is generally related to structural design, functional design and decorative design. Sewing techniques or types of clothing stitches (kebaya) in addition to functioning as a unifying fabric (sewn) can also show the characteristics of a fashion model (kebaya).
