Abstract
Densely populated area is one of high risk place in term of fire occurrence. Firefighter motorcycle was designed as an alternative solution to suppress the occurred fire disaster. As an moving pump, this motorcycle need a water tank to supply the needed water. The aim of this research is to design an appropriate water tank that can be used in densely populated area with narrow streets.
VDI 2221 design method was used to determine the efficient water tank. The mobility, maneuverability and stability were the aspects that determine this equipment can be used or not in the designed area. By using these aspects of design parameters the preliminary layout was established. The strength analysis, structure layout, attachment system was designed and analyzed to determine the definitive layout. The final design result was a portable water tank that can be attached to firefighter motorcycle.
