Using the Many Faceted Rasch Model to Eavluate Expert Assessments on the E-Learning Classroom Environment and Knowledge Transformation Instrument (ELLET)

Abstract

The learning of future teacher candidates requires the cognitive and emotional involvement of teacher individually and collectively, all of this happens in the education policy environment or classroom culture in certain schools. To reflect the culture of good quality and its influence on the quality of future teacher candidates, development of ELLET. As part of the development phase, ELLET items were tested on experts from various backgrounds in the scientific field. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the quality of expert based assessment on the ELLET instrument. The analysis was conducted by 28 experts who assessed 56 ELLET items with the Many Faceted Rasch Model approach. The findings of the analysis provide evidence of the quality of the response rating acceptable to experts, model fit criteria are met with a high reliability index. Detection of the type of severity of the expert with various spectrums is examined based on the characteristics (gender, age, and scientific field) and item difficulties. Information on interesting findings of this study as an important source of evidence of internal validity and the use of the Many Faceted Rasch Model in evaluating objective assessment.
