Abstract
The effective management of warehousing is one of the success keys for the organization’s supply chain. Fail in performing proper management and activity control over the warehouse leads to a higher possibility related to customer satisfaction downturn and inventory cost. A core issue in warehouse management is the inability to obtain accurate information. Industry 4.0 makes use of technology to transform the practice in streamlining the supply chain at the operational level. A smart warehousing system is a product of technological involvement that provides a robust operation to facilitate continuous interconnected real-time information from various locations into a single database. The application of RFID technology is utilized in supporting the data integration process. This study presents a design system approach of data integration in smart warehousing. This study relied on the in-depth investigation of operation and work scrutiny. The study found that data integration process in smart warehousing consists of three major components, namely: configuration, databasing and transmission. The excellence of the research requires an enhancement to refine the novel finding that can be done by model testing. This study augments dynamics to the knowledge and stimulates higher vision for bridging the thinking to practitioners.
