Abstract

The purpose of this research is to apply multimedia SEQ-alfa© in learning to develop students submicroscopic and symbolic representation abilities. Multimedia SEQ-alfa© is one of the multimedia simulations that can visualize the dynamic nature of a reversible chemical reaction in the chemical equilibrium process, as well as the visualization of the particles in a reaction to reach equilibrium. Multimedia SEQ-alfa© can also visualize the occurrence of a shift in chemical equilibrium when one factor (concentration or temperature) in the system is changed. The research design used is a pre-experimental design with the type of one-group pretest-posttest designs. The research was conducted on the second-grade high school. The results obtained are students experiencing increased ability of representation in the high category with an overall n-gain value reaching 0.72.
