Abstract
The thing that becomes a strong reason for every Higher Education Institution in developing countries including Indonesia is to encourage ICT management in the context of strengthening and improving the performance of the institution. Management of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is closely related to the performance of Higher Education in this digital era. While various studies also show that the discipline of ICT management is still immature. Although ICT management has been carried out since the 1980s, many studies have shown that ICT management levels are still very low. A literature study shows that there are still gaps in this matter, including the still low level of management, disagreement on the definition of success, contextual diversity, the inconsistency of the success measurement model and the lack of validity of the study results. So that further studies need to be done to explore new things in achieving successful ICT management. The purpose of this research is to find out and understand the status of successful ICT management and test the factors that influence its success. This research is planned to use a successful case study of ICT management in Islamic Boarding Schools based on Islamic boarding schools in West Java and Banten Kopertais II, using an input-process-output (IPO) success model based on comparison, adoption, adjustment, and merging of previous models/theories. Besides (IPO) will use a quantitative approach that involves management stakeholders as its participants. It is hoped that this study can improve previous models/theories and provide input for ICT management stakeholders to ensure the success of ICT management in the future.
