Abstract

Water is a primary human need for carrying out daily activities. Before being consumed or used in daily life, water must be free of germs and free of pollutants. One of the water pollutants is household waste that comes from used water containing soap. If the water is to be reused, the pH of the water should be around 7 by mixing acidic solution with a certain concentration into the wastewater. This paper describes the prototype of a closed loop pH control system using the pH sensor V1.1 and Arduino microcontroller. The pH control process is carried out by mixing an acidic solution into the wastewater. A stirrer is activated to accelerate the neutralization process through the actuation signal sent from the Arduino microcontroller to the DC motor that connected to the stirrer. By comparing three pollutant samples, the experimental results show that the final value of pH around 7 is rendered effectively between 90 to 130 seconds of mixing process.
