Abstract
Recently there have not been many studies examining android-based media and humanistic values, especially in the context of learning to speak in universities. Whereas technology and humanity are the two important issues currently which are dichotomous in nature. The speed of information and digital technology brought about by the era of industry 4.0 does not only bring easy access to language learning resources, but also brings challenges to efforts to instill humanistic values in students as generation Z. This research aims to develop android-based media to support learning of public speaking in students representing generation Z. The Borg & Galls version of Research and Development (RnD) is used as a research design. The research subjects were 30 students of Department of Indonesian Language and Literature, Language and Art Faculty, Universitas Negeri Semarang who were studying public speaking. The results of the study confirmed that Android-based media is needed in learning public speaking. This media was also proven effective in improving students competence in speaking in public spaces based on various indicators.
