Abstract
In recent years, lean manufacturing system has been a trend in various manufacturing fields. Although it eliminates wastes and increases effectiveness and efficiency significantly, it only eliminates wastes inside of the system (economically), not in the process (environmentally). Previous studies showed that lean manufacturing and green manufacturing can be combined to eliminate the system and processes wastes. The aim of this study was to review literatures on how lean-green manufacturing (LGM) system eliminates wastes in the system and environment. There were 80 papers reviewed and 20 of them met the inclusion criteria. The inclusion criteria were lean manufacturing system, green manufacturing, lean-green manufacturing, and environmentally friendly system. In conclusion, lean manufacturing system and green manufacturing support each other positively on eliminating wastes in both the system and environment.
