Phonological Errors Analysis in using Arabic Language of Arabic Language Education Students in UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung

Abstract

This paper aims to identify the errors that occur during the pronunciation of hijāiyyah letters based on the articulation point of the nature of the letters and sound waves. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method because researchers do a fact-finding with the interpretation of the data found. The data collection technique used is a free and engaging conversation, note-taking, and record technique. While the analysis uses discourse analysis, which makes valid inferences about the mastery of pronunciation to find out phonological errors in Arabic from the level of letters to sentences. The results showed that phonological errors in Oral Arabic activities of students of Arabic Language Program in UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung were in the pronunciation of the following letters: “ع “was exchanged with "ء"
(12,5%); "ض" was exchanged with "ظ"
(50%); "ش" was exchanged with "س"
(17,5%); "ث" was exchanged with "س"
(25%); “ه” was exchanged with "ح"
(22,5%); "ق" was exchanged with "ك"
(15%); "ز" was exchanged with "ج"
(35%); "ذ" was exchanged with "د"
(15%); "ص" was exchanged with "س"
(20%) And "ذ" was exchanged with "ز"
(30%)
