TEACHERS COMPREHENSION OF MUSIC FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD

Abstract

Music learning is believed to have a positive influence and impact on childrens development. Teachers comprehension of music also advocates the practice of music learning that is applied to early childhood education. A lot of literature explains that teachers perception and knowledge of music is very important in learning. The teachers positive attitude towards music is believed to be an important factor in the success of learning music in early childhood. This paper aims to explore how teachers comprehension of music for early childhood. Different educational backgrounds of teachers develop different attitudes and understandings. To gather information, the authors conducted a literature study by examining some literature that discusses the importance of music in early childhood education and teacher perceptions of music for early childhood. The results of this paper reinforce that teachers perspectives and knowledge about music also influence the practice of music learning in early childhood education.
