Abstract

this paper aims to discuss how parents role in constructing gender identity and roles in early childhood education. Based on the existing literature, the writers argue that parents still inclined to educate children with patriarchal culture and grasp of boys and girls construction standards in society. This paper uses Feminist Poststructuralist theory study. From the literature review, it was found that to overcome gender inequality, parents should understand the roles of gender in children. The main result of this literature review is the importance of understanding, voicing and implementing values of gender equality in early childhood education in community, it starts with parents at home to minimize social inequality.
