Abstract

21st Century requires students to have more than one skill from their learning activities, one of which is critical thinking skills. The skills need to be trained in science learning because these skills closely related to scientific methods. However, unfortunately, the average score of PISA in the science category obtained by Indonesian students has always been below average. It indicates that the critical thinking skills of Indonesian students are still relatively low because critical thinking skill is one aspect which is measured on the PISA test. Along with the development of technology, digital media can be used as science learning media, one of which is interactive multimedia. Students can learn more actively when using interactive multimedia because the implementation of this media is for student-centered learning. This research aims to develop interactive multimedia to exercise critical thinking skills on matter topics. This research uses the descriptive method. The instruments that are used are expert ^judgment rubric to assess the media and the questionnaire to check the students^ impression after using the media. The content consists of characteristics and properties of matter, physical and chemical change, a single substance, mixture, and separation of the mixture.
