Abstract

Spatial ability is one of ability that is able to help student to solve their daily life problems and supports the others knowledge such as mathematics. This ability is constructed by many components such as mental rotation, spatial orientation, spatial visualization, etc. But some of them have not researched well. Many researchers did research for both mental rotation and spatial visualization independently, although both of them influence student mathematics achievement. In this study, we examined the correlation between students^ mental rotation and spatial visualization abilities. There were 57 students participated in this study. We examined both of ability using 10 questions each during 30 minutes. We found that there was the significant correlation between students^ mental rotation and spatial visualization ability. For further research, we suggest to do the research with wider domain in for this topics, suchh as spatial orientation.
