Football Governance in Indonesia

Abstract

Organizing football competitions is one of the means needed to encourage the development of football in a country, including football governance in Indonesia. Since the 1970s, the competition organized by the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) involving clubs with regional names has had a big impact on the growth of football in Indonesia. The competition that is held will produce quality players that can be used by national teams and clubs to compete at the Asian level. Support from supporters in football competitions in Indonesia is very high, with spectators coming to the stadium to support the national team or football team being the most popular sport in Indonesia. This article presents a case study on the history of competitive competition in Indonesia that focuses on governance, administration and regulation. The purpose of this case study is to provide information on management governance in Indonesia starting from competitions, competitions, work programs of the Indonesian football association (PSSI), the parent organization of football in Indonesia.
