The Validation of A Portable Force Plate On Starting Block For Measuring Ground Reaction Force and Reaction Time During Starting Phase of Sprinting Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia Abstract In Sprinting, sprinter have to adjust the location of the starting blocks before going to start in order to get the best position when clearence form start block. Sprinter who are able to adjust the location of the block at the start will benefit from ground reaction force output and reaction time that have an important effect on the overall race results. The use of force plates in sprint is currently used to improve starting techniques. However, the device that are often used to fix start at this time are very expensive, impractical and there are no local manufacturers producing these equipment. The purpose of this study is to determine the reliability and validity of a portable Force Plate on starting block for measuring ground reaction force and reaction time during starting phase of sprintin. Ground reaction force output data obtained on footrests. The footrests are device with structures that contain the X-front and back Y-axis strain gauge sensors (top-bottom) as force data readers. The footing always sends force data to the controller. As for the reaction time using sensors that are put on the sprint runner^s thighs. The sensor is an EMG electrode (sensor for electromyography) which is reported to the main processor via wifi. The subject in this study is ten elite sprinter who will participate in PON in 2021.
