Relaxation Visual in Athlete: VR In Sport

Abstract

Virtual Reality (VR) as we know is a device that recently used in playing games, but the use of VR has expanded and already available to use in fields such as military and psychiatry in which the function is as a device to relax. The goal of this research in to figure the impact from the usage of VR in the field of sports to help the athlete feels relaxed. The method for this research is using literature review and through interview. The result that we obtain is that using VR that plays nature-based video is an effective method to provide relaxation and a positive mood while encountering stress. The using of nature-based video in VR can reduce physiological stress, anxiety, and negative feelings effectively. VR scenarios provide stimulus through instruction to relax muscles, relieve stress, and negative thoughts. Virtual reality therapy has been used for several psychopathological conditions, such as anxiety disorders, specific phobias, food disorders, traumas, and disorders regarding stress, also other serious mental health issues.
