Physical Activity In Adolescents During Covid-19 Pandemic

Abstract

This study aims to describe the physical activity of adolescents during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research method used is descriptive quantitative. Samples taken were 900 adolescents aged 15-17 years (350 boys and 550 girls) in Bandung city with snowball sampling technique. The results show that physical activity among adolescents during the Covid-19 pandemic was in the low category and there is a significant difference between the physical activities of men and women, boys do more physical activity than girls. There is limited space for movement because study from home, lack of promoting physical activity through physical education have resulted in a lack of knowledge about the role of physical activity as an effort to prevent Covid-19 transmission and the tendency of adolescents who have not made physical activity a culture. Therefore, promotion of physical literacy is very important in fostering physical activity among adolescents and even all levels of Indonesian society.
