EARLY CHILDHOOD CONFIDENCE IN THE POOL

Abstract

Childrens self-confidence is one of the supporting factors that are believed to be able to master aquatic activities, especially in swimming. The purpose of this study is an effort to monitor the level of self-confidence of children during the training process in the pool and other supporting factors. Quantitative research methods through a survey approach. The population of 20 children in the Indonesian Swimming Association Gemilang Prima, a sample of 20 children through the total sampling technique. Data collection through self-confidence questionnaire. The results showed that a high sense of optimism in children made someone more comfortable doing activities while in the pool, both in shallow pools and in deep pools. Meanwhile, independence is a factor that needs to be improved during the training process, and it needs coaches and parents.
