Abstract

This research departs from the large number of craft materials that can be used as materials for the development of creative products, which at the same time enrich students ability to work. Textiles are flexible materials made from woven threads. Textiles are formed by embroidery, sewing, bonding, and pressing. The term textile in everyday use is often equated with the term cloth. However there is a slight difference between these two terms, textile can be used to refer to any material made from woven threads, while cloth is the finished product, which is already usable. textile can also be interpreted as a braid between warp and weft or it can be said that a weave that binds one another, woven and knitted. This study aims to produce a learning model using various types of textile materials to improve the work skills of students of the PKK FPTK UPI study program using a research and development approach. The process is carried out through preliminary studies, development and testing. The instruments used in the preliminary study stage were putaka studies and field surveys; the model development stage is carried out in the form of preparing an initial draft of the model, limited trials and expanded trials; The validation stage of the model validation was in the form of pretest treatment and posttest experiments using a pretest-posttest matching control group design. From the research results, it was found that the multi-material learning model through creative textile handicraft products can increase the ability to enrich the students of the FPTK Family Welfare Education study program.
