Abstract

The results of preliminary observations on automotive learning in vocational high schools in Bandung obtained a description of that more than half (70%) students have never done a basic competency autotronic. The teacher only uses the lecture method in presenting ototronic learning material, so that misconceptions occur in the knowledge of ototronic. The contributing factor is that the practice facilities are not available, so learning still uses conventional methods, as a result graduates have no competence in autotronic. The purpose of this research is to develop an autotronic simulator to eliminate misconceptions in autotronic learning. The research method uses development research with five stages: a) preliminary study, b) definition, c) design, d) demonstration and e) development. The time of the study was carried out in February-March 2020. The research location was in a vocational school in Bandung. The research sample of 32 students at the vocational school of the Department of Automotive. The results showed that: (1) 80% students understood the material diagnosing the cruise control system of autotronic; (2) 60% of students are able to diagnose cruise control system of autotronic.
