Abstract

At present, rivers as one of the sources of raw water are misused as a place to dispose of both domestic and industrial waste. The Citarum River is an example of a river contaminated with waste and is a portrait of waste pollution management in Indonesia. The government through Presidential Decree No. 15/2018 implemented the Citarum Harum program to restore the river ecosystem. The Citarum Harum program which involved TNI members had a positive impact in the process of improving watersheds. However, to maintain river conditions, there is no information system that can provide real-time information about river water quality. Responding to this problem, researchers propose to create a river system by utilizing Internet of Things (IoT) technology. Parameters that can be monitored are based on the official quality standards of the National Sanitation Foundation Standard - Water Quality Index (NSF-WQI standard). These parameters are temperature, TSS, DO, BOD, Ph, NO2, NO3, and total coli. The research method used is a planned experimental method, which begins with literature studies, needs analysis, to building architectural systems. The system created can perform based on parameters that have come before and can calculate the value of air quality (WQI) automatically. The system can also classify air conditions with safe, warning and hazard categories and can send automatic notifications when changes in the value of the air quality index are outside the provisions.
