Abstract

Digitalization has been described as one of the most important developments that transform society and industry. Digitalization creates organizational shifts because of the implementation of digital technology in the enterprise or operating environment. This paper discusses digitalization from the point of view of multiple case studies conducted to gather data from several businesses, and a literature study to supplement the data. This paper describes the digital transformation framework model, derived from the synthesis of industrial cases, explaining a starting point for a systematic approach to digital transformation. The model is designed to help CoE TVET management handle the changes associated with digitalization systematically. The model consists of four key phases, beginning with positioning the organization in the digitalization and setting targets for the organization and then evaluating the current state of the business with regard to the digitalization objectives. First, the organization establishes and develops a plan for attaining the targets. These steps are iterative, and several times can be repeated. Though company circumstances differ, these steps can systematically aid approach digitalisation and take the required steps to reap the benefits.
