Abstract

In modern times, smartphones are an important tool in life and can be used as a source of information. One of them is an android-based traveling salesman monitoring application which will be implemented on smartphones. The aim of this research is to build applications that can monitor movement of traveling salesman in Real-time, so that it can be used as data distribution of traveling salesman around a place, and as a means of communication between prospective buyers and traveling salesman. Another objective is to determine what factors affect the GPS accuracy of the smartphone in determining position of the traveling salesman. The method used in designing this application is Systems development life cycle (SDLC) Waterfall where the research starts from analysis and needs, literature study, application design, wireframe and prototype, making algorithm construction, testing and program analysis. The result of this research is a traveling salesman monitoring application and an analysis of the factors that affect the accuracy of the GPS traveling salesman monitoring application on the smartphone. After obtaining the results, it is known that the accuracy of the coordinates on the GPS is not only affected by the internet network, Weather factors also affect GPS in determining precise coordinates.
