Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of using instructional media based on animation video tutorials in the Stones Concrete Working Practice course in the Civil Engineering Education program of UNJ. The research method used was a pre-experimental research design with one group pre-test post-test design. The research process amid the Covid-19 pandemic was carried out online through the WhatsApp group by sharing the pre-test Google Form link, YouTube video link, and Google Form post-test link with the research sample 60 students taking stones concrete working practice courses. The number of video tutorial media based on this animation is 12 videos with a duration of 4-8 minutes for each video. The trial test results got an average pre-test score of 54.67 and an average post-test score of 94.33. The Wilcoxon test results, and the N-Gain calculation show that there is an average difference between the pre-test and post-test learning outcomes. There is an effect of using animation-based video tutorials in increasing student learning outcomes by 80%.
