Abstract

Hijaiyyah Braille^s learning methods for the blind are still conventional, so their independence in learning cannot be achieved. There is also hijaiyyah learning media such as dynamic hijaiyyah braille display, which has not provided interactive features between the tool and the user, so the user has not been able to use the tool independently. This study aims to develop a Refreshable Hijaiyyah Braille to recognize the voice and be integrated with android to provide interactive hijaiyyah learning for blind people. The research method used is the research and development method which is divided into ten stages, namely, (1) problem identification and objectives, (2) needs analysis, (3) data search, (4) hardware design, (5) software design, (6) synchronization, (7) PCB layout and component assembly, (8) tool assembly, (9) testing, (10) observation and evaluation. As a result, braille characters are formed by six dots consisting of solenoids that dynamically form a surface that can be used as a basis for making braille letters. This tool also has a sound feature that comes from two speakers. The voice recognition feature on the densest tool in the android application is specifically made to complete the function of refreshable hijaiyyah braille.

Abstract

Language as a source of knowledge can be used for learning the local cultural values. The integration of local cultural values in language learning can use digital tools as the media. In the pandemic era, the use of an effective digital-learning tool is expected to be able to help students in facing learning difficulties and also improve their understanding competencies in discourse writing. This study aims to develop a digital flow chart media which promotes the local cultural values in learning discourse writing. This present study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method which used the ADDIE model including analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The methods of data collection were questionnaire, observation, and documentation. The feasibility test result in this study, which was validated by the experts, reached 86,5% for learning media and 92,5% for learning material. Therefore, it can be concluded that the development of digital flow chart media which promotes the local cultural values is effective to improve the learning outcomes in discourse writing.

Abstract

Trans-phalangeal amputation is the most common case in upper-limb amputation which accounted for 78% of the total cases. However, the prosthetic device is expensive due to its uniqueness which makes this device cannot be mass manufactured. This paper aims to design the mechanism of a prosthetic device for trans-phalangeal amputation. The mechanism will be designed by using kinematic synthesis. In this study, the main consideration during the designing process is the functionality, operation easiness, user comfort, customizable, and low cost. Therefore, a 1 degree of freedom kinematic system was designed to make the prosthetic device can be easily operated by the user. The result from this study is a kinematic system for trans-phalangeal prosthetic device successfully created. It can be moved by moving only one input linkage which means the design has 1 degree of freedom.

Abstract

Physical system modeling of Simple Harmonic Motion can be created easily using Macro in Excel by applying numerical programming. This is very useful for creating the realā€time physical simulation and accuracy to assist students learning process. This modeling is very useful in efforts to lead the students to understanding the concept of circular motion and simple harmonic motion. Programming is applying sequential of numerical calculations and trigonometric functions. Using very simple numerical script, modeling physical systems can be created easily. Just entry the physical variables, then plotting the graphs, and then write sequent of numeric programming, all step just done in Excel. Not only just a demonstration by teachers, but students can also participate to make this model just for few minutes. So students will be mastering in the physics concepts and the relationships between variables of simple harmonic motion system.

Abstract

Maglev trains have a working system that will later be used to move the train. Magnetic Levitation (maglev) working system uses the principle of attractive or repulsive force generated by magnets. In its development, there are several systems used on maglev trains. This article describes how to design the strength of the magnetic field in the maglev prototype. Tests using a magnet based on the distance and diameter of the magnet. The results of measuring the magnetic field on a permanent magnet by varying the space to determine the position of the largest magnetic field, where the largest magnetic field is found in 2 magnetic pieces with a diameter of 15 mm with a value of 50.7 gauss. In the coil magnet, manual calculations are carried out, to produce a magnetic field equal to 2 pieces of 15 mm diameter magnet requires a current of 10 amperes

Abstract

The folklore manuscripts have not been well documented, nor have they been widely transformed into digital versions. This is an opportunity as well as a challenge for the digitization of android-based folklore. This paper aims to develop a digital manuscript of android-based folklore. This digital manuscript has a strategic position as a digital manuscript transformation. This research and development was carried out using the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation). Media feasibility was assessed by manuscript content experts and digital media experts, and tested on 10 users. The developed digital manuscript contains Central Java folklores content that can be accessed via a smartphone. The menu presented includes story sources, story characters, characterizations, and content of cultural values. This media can increase users^ insight about Indonesian folklore by 32%.

Abstract

Pythagoras was the first to bring a theorem to the civilization center of Science of his time, namely Greece. Currently, what we know as the Pythagorean Theorem provides various benefits that are applied in everyday life. Like other theorems, the Pythagorean Theorem also requires various methods to prove its truth and validity as a theorem. One of the computer media, especially those that cover the fields of geometry as well as algebra to ease the way of proving the theorem, is Graspable Math. By constructing, dragging and clicking, proofing can be done more easily. As a compatible application, Graspable Math functions as a medium that provides more interactive visuals for users to prove the Pythagorean Theorem.

Abstract

Chemopoly game is a game adapted from monopoly, which serves as a medium for understanding chemistry in games. This study aims to explain the steps for making android-based chemopoly games on atomic structure materials. The research method used is Design-Based Research (DBR) with the analysis, design, and development stages. The results show the chemopoly game display with a start menu option that contains the player display and the chemopoly game board. There are start plots, atomic structure material information plots, opportunity plots containing information on applying atomic structure materials in daily life, question plots with critical thinking indicators, question-free plots, trap plots, bonus points plots, prison plots, and prison-free plots. There is also a menu about games that contains game rules, how to play, competencies, material explanations, bibliography and compiler profiles. The validation test results and limited trial show that the android-based chemopoly game media can be used in atomic structure learning.

Analysis of Measurement Results Using the Donlon and Fischer Methods

Universitas Negeri Jakarta

Abstract

Measurement is the process of assigning a number to something based on certain rules. Through measurement, the value of a quantity will be obtained. There are two types of measurement, physical measurement and mental measurement. Mental measurement is done by giving quantitative values to the human mind. This method is a major step in the formation of mathematical concepts, where, in mathematics, a person^s logic of thinking is implanted in order to reason well. However, sometimes math gets really scary, because it is too difficult. Based on these assumptions, it is necessary to study the results of mental measurements through mathematical tests. The purpose of this study was to analyze the results of mental measurements using the Donlon and Fischer method. This study used an experimental method on 700 students. The results showed that the Donlon and Fischer method was the right method for detecting abnormal mental measurement results. The next conclusion, the impropriety of mental measurement results through mathematical tests can occur in the correct score model. Research implementation, Donlon and Fischer methods can be used to analyze the results of mental measurements through the difficulty level of items on the delta scale as the basis for calculations.
