Needs assessment on microlearning-based teaching and learning instructional media: A retrospective study in vocational high schools in Indonesia Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia Abstract The shifting mode of teaching and learning to fully online course as an impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is one of the inevitable educational phenomena in Indonesia. The use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is becoming a necessity for teachers, including vocational high school teachers, to facilitate their students^ learning. By applying R & D as a research design, this article reports on the results of needs assessment on microlearning-based teaching media in vocational productive subjects. The study was carried out at the state vocational high schools of the Office Management Program (Office Automation and Governance department) in Indonesia. The results of data analysis show that microlearning-based teaching media can be an alternative solution for teachers in encouraging the students to learn independently. Developing teaching materials that are compelling to the students and stimulating their critical thinking is the main point the teachers should perform.
