Analysis of Higher Order Thinking Skills of Students Class X SMA 2 Padang on Biodiversity Material

Abstract

The 2013 curriculum requires students to develop high-level thinking skills. However assessment instrument made by the teacher as one of the tools to treat students ^high-order thinking skills is still at the C1-C3 cognitive level, while the assessment instrument that can treat students high-order thinking skills is at the C4-C6 cognitive level. Subjects of research trials consist of 35 students of class X MIA 1 SMAN 2 Padang. The instruments of data collection are questionnaire of validity and practice test. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Students still memorize the various materials that will be tested before carrying out daily tests. Based on the test of the ability of high-level thinking to students of class X SMAN 2 Padang, known ability to think high-level students are still low. Values obtained based on test results about the ability of high-level thinking of the student population of SMAN 2 Padang is 52,63. This is because teachers of teachers are still low to make a high-ability thinking assessment instrument that can treat high-level thinking skills of learners.
