Meta-analysis of project-based mathematics learning on students problem-solving abilities a) Department of Mathematics Education, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Jl. Dr. Setia Budhi No. 229, Bandung 40154, Indonesia Abstract In several years, there have been many experimental studies of the PjBL model on students mathematical problem-solving abilities. However, in this second also in the literature review, no one has analyzed the combined findings obtained in this study. This meta-analysis study aims to analyze and describe the effectiveness of the project-based learning (PjBL) model in the mathematical problem-solving abilities of students in Indonesia. The study search tool uses the Google scholar, ERIC (Education Resources Information Center) and IOP Publishing. There were 12 studies analyzed from 2014-2021 in proceedings, journals, and theses. The study analysis was assisted by Ms. Excel, SPSS, and CMA Ver. 3 (Comprehensive Meta-Analysis) software to determine the level of reliability, publication bias, and effect size. The results showed that the reliability level in these 12 studies was 0.833, classified as vital. The effectiveness of using the PjBL model was higher by 1.284 in students mathematical problem-solving abilities than using conventional learning models. The further analysis in the form of study characteristics obtained to support the results of this study is that there are significant differences at the level of education and publication sources. So the application of the PjBL model is efficient for mathematical problem-solving abilities when mathematics teachers apply to learn to secondary school students. Besides that, researchers should publish their research in quality journals to improve the quality of their research Keywords: Problem-Solving Ability- Project-Based Learning- Meta-analysis- Mathematics Education Topic: Mathematics Education |
