Abstract

Metacognition skills are key to successful living in the 21st century. These skills can be defined as those which allow someone to become aware of what he is thinking, planning, and implementing, in order to be able to evaluate. Metacognition skills are not innate, which means that they have to be treated systematically especially in the context of learning in the classroom. The integrated RBL model and STEM approach is assumed to contribute to increase the metacognition skills. To be specific, the study aimed to investigate if RBL-STEM approach can increase students^ metacognition skills in examining the antioccidant substance of Arabica coffee with certain roasting levels. To answer the problem, it is required to present an elaborated study activity. The study is a research and development study which employs the ADDIE model (Analyze, Define, Develop, Implementation and Evaluation). Three learning products are developed, such as semester course plan, worksheet, and test. The validation process of the three products returned satisfactory. The results show that the content, format, and language validities in the products are very good.
