THE IMPLEMENTATION OF PERFORMANCE ASSESMENT BY ANDROID BASED VIRTUAL LABS TO IMPROVE STUDENTS^ SCIENCE PROCESS SKILLS DURING THE LEARNING ACTIVITIES IN COVID-19 PANDEMIC (a)Department of Chemistry Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Samudra University Abstract This study aims to determine the effect of implementing performance assessment through android-based virtual lab learning in improving students^ science skills during online learning. The research method used a quasi-experimental design with the Nonequivalent Control Group Pretest-posttest Design. The study involved two classes, namely XI IPA 6 as the experimental class and XI IPA 11 as the control class. The data used is descriptive quantitative. The results showed that the application of performance assessment through android-based virtual laboratory learning for the experimental and control classes was in a good percentage. However, several indicators need to be improved. The experimental class experienced a better improvement after implementing performance assessments for each indicator of science skills. The application of formative assessment to science skills showed a significant relationship. There is an increase in science skills in the high category (0.70) after implementing performance assessments through android-based virtual labs. Also, the student response to android-based virtual labs learning is quite good at 85%. Furthermore, there was an increase in student learning outcomes with a class average of 88. These outcomes showed that the implementation of performance assessment through android-based virtual labs had a positive impact even though it was carried out in a covid19 pandemic.
