Analysis of Problem Solving Abilities on Momentum and Impulse Topics Due to Implementation of Distance Learning During Covid-19 Pandemic a) Departemen Pendidikan Fisika, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Jl. Dr. Setia Budhi No. 229, Bandung 40154, Indonesia Abstract During Covid-19 pandemic, physics learning was carried out remotely so that student activities experienced problems. Physics learning requires problem solving abilities in understanding and solving physics problems. The purpose of this study was to analyze students physics problem solving abilities during distance learning. The research method is pre-experimental with a one-shot case study design. The research subjects were students of grade X in city and in sub-district which located in Nganjuk. The research instrument was a test of the problem-solving ability of the topic of momentum and impulse with a Cronbach alpha value of 0.7. The results of Mann Whitney test on each stage of problem solving abilities (1) exploring and understanding, (2) representing and formulating, (3) planning and executing, (4) monitoring and reflecting from students attending schools in city and sub-district showed significant differences. The percentage of achievement of each stage in the city is respectively 81%, 47%, 71%, and 44%, while in the sub-district it is 52%, 25%, 46%, and 26%. The representing and formulating stage and the monitoring and reflecting stage in sub-district are still in low category. To improve problem-solving skills at a low stage, further research needs to be done. Keywords: problem solving abilities, distance learning, physics learning Topic: Physics Education |
