Abstract

The results of observations at SMP N 2 Bojongpicung, it was found that learning activities had not increased students learning motivation as a whole. This happens because the learning media used do not attract students interest because students only listen to explanations from the teacher and read manuals, so it has not given students the opportunity to expand their abilities. Therefore, game-based learning media is needed. The learning media that the researchers will develop are barcode-based science monopoly learning media. The data collection instrument was carried out by using a questionnaire. The results of this study indicate that monopoly learning with cell material can be said to be feasible according to the assessment of material experts, obtaining a mean score of 82.00 in the ^Very Good^ category, individual trials of 26.80 in the category of ^Very Good^, small group trials of 26 , 20 with the ^Very Good^ category, and field trials of 26.67 with the ^Very Good^ category. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis. The method used is research and development. The results of this study are barcode-based monopoly game learning media which is suitable for use and proven to increase student motivation.
