Abstract This study aimed to analyze the use of epistemological assessment in science learning via distance learning program due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The subject of this study consisted of six Senior High Schools (SMA) and six Biology teachers, both public and private in Bandung, who were determined by random sampling. This study used qualitative and quantitative descriptive study involving several assessment documents, including Lesson Planning, Student Worksheets, and Assessment Rubrics. The instruments used in data collection consisted of three competences of scientific skills- explaining phenomena scientifically, evaluating and designing scientific enquiry, as well as interpreting data and evidence scientifically. The analysis results of the use of epistemological science assessment were considered quite good: about 67% of assessment items has met the requirement for skill indicator of explaining phenomena scientifically. There is even a higher percentage (74%) for skill indicator of evaluating and designing scientific enquiry as well as interpreting data and evidence scientifically. However, it is necessary to conduct further research in order to figure out the students^ responses on the learning experiences and epistemological science assessment based on the three aforementioned competences in dealing with Covid-19 pandemic so that the data will be more valid and significant.
