Abstract

The problem solving skills are needed to students in physics learning and one of the most important skills of the 21st century. This study aims to determine the quality of mechanical wave instrument test in 11th grade level, reviewed based on cognitive level^s taxonomy bloom and indicator of problem solving skills. The study was carried out using non-experimental qualitative descriptive methods. The research data was collected using interview techniques and analysis of instrument documents from five senior high school in Bandung to the content mechanical wave. Based on an analysis of five instruments from different schools, the result showed that mechanical wave instrument test in Bandung 70% cognitive level used were understanding (C2) and applying (C3), so not all the instrument contains all indicator of problem solving skills.
