THE DEVELOPMENT OF A WEB-BASED ASSESMENT SYSTEM WITH A FIVE TIER INSTRUMENT TEST TO IDENTIFY STUDENT^S MISCONCEPTION ON LINEAR KINEMATICS (a) Universitas Negeri Malang Abstract This study aims to develop a web-based assessment system with a five tier instrument test that can identify student^s misconceptions on linear kinematics and is named FTDT (five tier diagnostic test). The type of research used is development research with the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate) model. The research was conducted at a Islamic-based public school in Pasuruan, East Java, Indonesia. The research subjects were 50 students who were taken by purposive sampling. Test instruments are developed and validated. FTDT is specifically designed to support teachers as an efficient alternative for identifying student misconceptions. All FTDT programs and interfaces are developed with open source based technologies such as XAMP servers, MySQL databases, Javascript and PHP. Based on the analysis of research data, the assessment system developed is feasible to be applied to many students at once. Therefore, the assessment system can be integrated in many schools as part of the Physics subject.
