Implementation of Higher Order Thinking Laboratory (HOTLAB) on magnetic field with real blended virtual laboratory to improve students critical thinking skills Department of Physics Education, Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, Jl. AH. Nasution 105, Bandung 40614, West Java, Indonesia. Abstract During the Covid-19 pandemic, which still hit Indonesia, the teaching and learning process took place online and students were still required to have critical thinking skills, problem solving, and communication skills. These skills can be trained and developed through Higher Order Thinking Virtual Laboratory (HOT-V Lab) activities. This study aims to determine the effect of HOTVL laboratory activities on improving critical thinking skills of magnetic field material. The experimental class and control class were given a pretest and posttest in both classes. The results of this study indicate that the magnetic field practicum activity using the HOT-V Lab model in the experimental class has increased significantly in fulfilling the learning characteristics oriented to providing critical thinking skills.
