Abstract

This research investigates the impact of using the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) approach in distance learning, called STEM at Home, on improving elementary school students^ critical thinking skills. The type of research used is a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group in science learning involving 56 students in an elementary school in Purwakarta. Data were collected through a critical thinking test instrument before and after distance learning is carried out. Results suggest that students who received learning with the STEM approach have better critical thinking skills than students who learned through the conventional approach.
