Abstract

The development of android applications increases rapidly in education. The use of the android application as learning media has become popular. One of the android applications that has been made is ChemFUN android application. This study attempts to evaluate ChemFUN android application for exploring student^s understanding of chemical representation by analyzing the mobile connectivity, materials, and user interface. The research method that was used is a descriptive method by using purposive sampling. There were six science teachers and thirty-six students involved as a research subject. The results show that the average score of the teacher respondents on mobile connectivity, materials, and user interface are 3.72, 3.67, and 3.67. On the other hand, the average score of the student respondents on mobile connectivity, materials, and user interface are 3.61, 3.45, and 3.62. Thus, although the average score of the respondent is good, the android application still revises in several aspects to perfect the performance. Finally, the ChemFUN Android application is ready to explore student^s understanding of chemical representation in learning matter.
