Representation Ability of Mathematics Education Students in Linear Programming Lecture a)Mathematics Education Department, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah, Jl. Ir. H Juanda No.95, Jakarta, 15412, Indonesia Abstract This study aims to obtain information regarding students^ representation ability in linear programming courses in the mathematics education department. The method used is a quantitative description with the instrument in the form of a description test and analyzed using the logit size on the Winstep software. Mathematical representation ability test as an instrument to collect data, which was then analyzed using logit measure. The results showed that students were divided into three levels of representational ability, namely high, medium, and low. Fifty-two students were at the intermediate level and their verbal representation skills contributed to low scores. Many indicators with a high level of difficulty for students cause the low ability of representation. Some answers are related to each other so that there are answers that are affected. This research impacts the need to improve the ability of students, one of which can be through changes in learning methods during lectures Keywords: representation ability, linear programming Topic: Mathematics Education |
