Resilience and Career Commitment on Millenial Employee: A Moderated Mediation Model of Work Engagement and Role Modelling a) Graduate School of Management, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Indonesia Abstract In an unpredictable and changing working environment, career and employment disruption has profoundly affected organizations and employees in multiple industries, which ultimately lower the career commitment of employees. In time of crisis, resilience has become an important factor that must be considered and owned by each role in the workplace. This study aims to explore the role of resilience in relation to career commitment, as mediated by work engagement and moderated by role modelling. This is a quantitative study of 415 employees in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods Industry (FMCG). Online questionnaires and Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) were used to analyze the data and the proposed hypotheses. The main finding of this study indicate that high level of resilience was positively associated with work engagement. The study result also showed that work engagement mediated the relationship between resilience and career commitment. Implications for managers of FMCG Industry, theoretical contribution of the paper and suggestions for future research are discussed.
