Abstract. Decade of Education For Sustainable Development was launched by the United Nations with the aim of integrating the principles, values and practices of sustainable development into all aspects of education and learning. Based on the results of the preliminary study, it was found that teachers do not fully understand ESD and there is no explicit policy on ESD as a reference by the education unit level. Therefore, a learning design is needed that integrates ESD aspects, especially the environmental perspective so that students are more literate in science and have good scientific literacy skills. The purpose of this research is to examine learning designs that are oriented towards continuing education goals and to implement them in Integrated Science learning. This research is a research with a qualitative approach through the method of design and development research. Data collection techniques used interviews, expert validation questionnaires, and scientific literacy achievements. Interview guidelines, lesson plans, validation sheets, and student worksheets are the main instruments in this research. From the research that has been done, it can be concluded that in general the indicators that have been derived from the content standards can be associated with ESD elements, and the learning designs developed can help develop students^ scientific literacy. The principle in implementing ESD elements in learning is student-oriented, making the environment a source of learning and linking local and global issues.
