Abstract

This study aims to describe the development of early childhood creativity through STEAM learning in early childhood education. STEAM is carried out by considering the characteristics of the learning theme as well as the cognitive and mental development of early childhood. In this study, STEAM was implemented by adapting project based learning steps consisting of reflection, research, discovery, application and communication. The research method used is pre-experimental research with one group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects were 15 children aged 5-6 years who were observed using the observation sheet for the development of children^s creativity during the learning activities starting from the implementation of the pre-experiment (pre-test) and after learning using STEAM (post-test). The data were analyzed statistically using the n-gain test and t-test. Based on the results of the study, it was found that STEAM had an impact on increasing the development of children^s creativity at a moderate level and there was a significant difference between children^s creativity before and after engaging in STEAM learning.
