First-principles Calculations of Generating Magnetic States in AA-stacked Bilayer Zigzag Graphene Nanoribbons Universitas Negeri Jakarta Abstract We explored the magnetic ground states in the AA-stacked bilayer zigzag graphene nanoribbons by employing first-principles calculations. We found the non-magnetic ground state for the same ribbon width at certain thicknesses, but then observed the magnetic ground state at the other thicknesses. As hole-electron doping was applied, a phase transition of magnetic ground state emerged for certain thicknesses, which means that a new magnetic ground state in the AA-stacked bilayer zigzag graphene nanoribbons can be tuned by the doping.
