Development of Learning Management System (LMS) to Facilitate Online Learning of Biodiversity Materials During the Covid-19 Pandemic

Abstract

The lockdown policy in the COVID-19 pandemic that has hit all countries in the world has forced every community to adapt to new habits in carrying out activities. The education sector is no exception. Currently, teachers and education researchers are competing to design effective learning designs without having to meet in the same room. The use of technology is a solution that is widely offered. However, it still has obstacles in its implementation. Therefore, the researcher aims to develop an LMS that can integrate all learning support devices in one system. The development of this LMS is carried out by following the stages of research and development (R&D). In general, the stages of this research are preliminary studies, preliminary designs, product development and limited trials. In the implementation of a limited trial, researchers applied LMS to grade X Biology learning at SMA Bandung. The application of the LMS was carried out using the one group pretest-posttest experimental design method. The selection of research participants was carried out by purposive sampling technique. The results of the study indicate that the LMS developed can facilitate online learning due to COVID 19. The LMS developed is able to improve problem solving abilities which are discussed further in this article
