Abstract

Education today is greatly helped by the presence of technology. Technology in teaching is widely used, especially in terms of delivering abstract concepts to students. In addition, technology also allows students to obtain information from various types of digital media. But not all students are able to obtain information that is relevant to the issue being studied. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to develop a Digital Habits of Mind indicator that is used to measure the ability of students to obtain information. The inclusion of Habits of Mind is intended to explain that literacy skills are not only reading and writing information but also the ability to think to solve a problem. Research and development method is the method chosen to carry out this research. Procedures of this research are planning, exploratory studies, initial instrument development and validation. 21 indicators were obtained from the integration between the Habits of Mind indicator and the Digital Age Literacy indicator. The development of this indicator is a grounded theory in which the researcher is the main formulator and at the same time adds to the repertoire of research in Biology education. The implication of the research is an instrument that can be adapted to measure students^ Digital Habits of Mind.
