Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in students^ mathematical literacy skills when taught using technology, which is assisted by Hypercontent of Ethnomathematics for Mathematical Literacy (HEML). Students need to have mathematical literacy skills to be able to formulate, use, and interpret mathematical knowledge in various contexts of real-world problems. This research is quasi-experimental and was conducted at SMA Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo Medan with a population of class X students at SMA Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo. The results obtained that the average increase in students^ mathematical literacy skills in the experimental class was higher than the average increase in students^ mathematical literacy abilities in the control class. The research data are normally distributed and have the same or homogeneous variance. Meanwhile, the t-test results, results show that the average mathematical literacy ability with Hypercontent of Ethnomathematics for Mathematical Literacy-assisted learning is different from the average mathematical literacy ability with conventional learning.
